Dr. Gail Belvett (rhymes with ‘velvet’) is an arts administrator and curator, independent board director and dental entrepreneur. She founded Southpoint Family Dentistry in 2007 and provided care to 5000+ Durham, NC residents. Gail served on the Nasher Museum of Art Friends Board, was named Chair of the Collections Committee for the Nasher Board of Advisors from 2016 – 2020 and is currently a Nasher Museum Gallery Guide. In 2018, Gail sold her dental practice and in 2020, founded The Art Chose Me, whose mission is to increase access to and appreciation of the visual arts–paying special attention to engaging historically marginalized artists and communities.
